I get such pangs in the heart every time I hear this song, even though I've never been in love. What I love about Cyndi is that she can make a personal feel the emotion of something they've never experienced, at least she does that for me. Anyway... This song really describes the way the passion and 'heat' of a new love always ends up fading, 'When hot gets a little cold.' I think that in saying: 'Heaven, you say it could be heaven, well I don't really know I'll try not to let it show when hot gets a little cold when hot gets a little cold' She is trying to say that she wants the relationship she has with this other person to work very badly, so even when the passion and heat fades, she is going to pretend that it hasn't because she wants it to stay so much. I also get chills from the line: 'What was it I heard you say you love me 'cause I'm strong, I hope that you're not wrong' This is a beautiful song by a beautiful lady. Love ya, Cyn! :) |
