| Avenged Sevenfold – Welcome to the Family Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I believe this song is all about death as a whole as opposed to the idea of it being a social commentary. Hey - there's something missing Only time will alter your vision Never question, lethal injection Welcome to the family We can only get closer to the family of the dead as we experience time take notice of how age is never mentioned but time is. in other words when its your time to see this whole new world of the dead never question it embrace it. And in a way it seems there's no one to call When our thoughts are so numb And our feelings unsure We all have emptiness inside We all have answers to find, But you can't win this fight Who can you call when death lays his icy fingers on your wrist to take you across the waters. We need to realize how short life is and how we are all searching for answers but no answer will keep you around forever. and for me finally the stanza I see you're a king whose been dethroned Cast out in a world you've never known Stand down, place your weapons by your side It's our war, in the end we'll surely lose, but that's alright So have you figured it out now? So have you figured it out? I see this as them saying it doesn't matter if your a king or a pauper NO status or Armour can protect you. Our job is to live and fight but always bare in mind we will eventually lose |
