money to burn... all i can think just burn some cigs or weeds share the joints while talking about bad stuffs that happened recently i kinda imagine, while MGMT already graduated but haven't join Columbia they spent their times smoke pots and nothing pretty much to do just spend time smoking weeds, talking about depressing stuffs that happend recently |

this song has two ways to be interpreted 1. a totally psychedelic song, you can see trippy words such as "mangled lines", "tiny isles of bruises", "it's workin in your blood" etc. 2. Being intimate with someone but at the same both of them under drug-effects. So when his heart is racing, he doubted it is because of love. He make conclusion that all of feeling inside just another drug effects. He doesn't want admit it's love, afraid being deceived by drugs effects and interpreted "the heart racing" as "love throb" Here, you focus so I can see your faces the eyes are wrong (looking at his partner faces, trying to focus, but maybe drugs start to kicking) how will I know if it's working right? light confuses the tiny isles of bruises the mangled lines I see the signs of aging (he still tracing his GF skin, a lil bit confused from E, tracing maybe some freckles, some wrinkles.. the sign of aging is wrinkles) But if I try to feel at all I am deceived my mind's affected it's empty now as I lay down I feel alright my heart is racing (as they lay down together and his heart starts racing, he doubt the feeling, he chooses not to feel too much) Turn the noise on I'd like to feed my poison assembly lines (maybe he wants his GF moan more, because he wants to feed his Passion, and everything start to move) carry a velvet warning to the yard it's just like striking matches the polish lies (velvet... all i can thik about velvet is something so smooth and sensual, the moment sparks and blazes so quickly, just like striking matches, but when the fire off or when the drugs effect wears-off, every feeling he just felt, almost unreal, seemed fake) but it's working in your blood which you know is not the same as love love is only in your mind and not your heart (and the last verse is his conclusion) it's working in your blood which you know is not the same as love love is only in your mind and not your heart |
