Well seeing as how many tool fans like to find a meaning in his words, perhaps I can tell you why it wouldn't matter. The reason they sold as many albums, songs, etc., is because people like to interpret their songs. Which means his thoughts on life, which are generally the artist's lyrics, are their songs. They became famous because amazing intstrumentals and lyrics. Also, I think about now tool has made so much money for their label that it wouldn't even matter if they put out a cd that didn't sell at all. |

Hmm, well if that is truly what he was thinking during the creation of this song, I would think all christians had thought this way at some point. I mean christianity is profitable, as are many religions. But if you understand why he is speaking down to christianity, then why would it dissapoint you? I mean understanding that there are people who do act the way he is stating in the song, if that is the meaning, then why do you take offense if you are not one of the people? He also wouldn't be talking down to god, he would be talking of the non-existance of god. I am agnostic and I often see atheist getting bashed for "attacking god" when all they are really doing is not believing in him. |
