| i just want to comment on how much i love how everyones comment is somewhat unique. it really shows the awesome power of art. everyones individual interpretation is a look inside that persons personality and their experiences that cause them to express how a song makes them think and feel. you gain the perspective of a complete, true stranger whom youve never seen and somewhat get a sense of their virtues and imagination. hooray for art and the diversity that it encourages. its pretty remarkable. im sorry its just so hard to ignore such a phenomenon, i mean simply organized sounds to bring people together. wow. | |

i think i agree with the environmental theory. the way i see it the song is sang to humanity from the perspective of the earth. basically expressing the human condition. imagine it like the earth is the mother, and humanity is a teenager or a kid (because as a people we pretty much are) humanity is in its adolescent phase and its forgotten all about its parents or where it came from, thinks they are smart enough to know whats best for them and dont fully understand consequence leading to destructiveness. this song is basically a reminder to take a step back and look at the whole picture. if you think about it sung from the perspective of earth singing it to humans i think it makes so much sense. but thats how i hear it. |
