I think this song may be about his father honestly. Settle up, we're calling up the pain Stealin' dad? You're single, hide the strain You came, you saw, you sawed her brain You cut out all the parts that held your stain Settle up as in get ready for pain, for heartache. If this part is what I feel he is saying, He is talking to some woman or something that is stealing his dad away from someone or something. This is where I feel that he is discussing how he was "cutting out all the parts that held his stain" such as memories and ties to that person/thing. sitting clad you're feeling wild to blame She's crying now you're climbing down your claim Sitting up you're counting up your names Seen enough to bend him off the frame The woman who is stealing dad is caught or something along those lines and is crying (could even be adultery, dunno)...Seen enough to bend him off the frame....of the picture. We "picture" families together ect... You came, you saw, you sawed her brain You cut out all the parts that held your stain You clipped, you clawed to no applause You lost the will to bolt the lying gauze. They fought and clawed to no end to make the relationship work but unfortunately, nothing seemed to get better. Eventually loosing the will to try to fix the relationship (think of whatever the situation as a wound) so try to be somebody so try to fee somebody so try to leave somebody so hard/try to be somebody Life is tough. |

Personally I feel this song is about Mother Earth. "Oh I was sent to find the lonesome place" is our galaxy and in terms of life the only one with any for billions of miles away (or even at all). "Oh but rumor has it that I wasn't born I just walked in one frosty morn" Specifically Christians believe that God created the earth and all life that resides on it. "But I will fight this stranger that you should fear So I won't be a burden of tomorrow dear" For me, this is my favorite part of the entire song. I'm not entirely sure who/what will fight the stranger but I feel the stranger is us and we are the burden of tomorrow. We have literally changed the face of the earth. Some of this to me even is a stretch, but for me this is what this song has come to mean for me. |
