| No. I used to think that movies like that were bad too. But they are not. Josh Dies wrote a big blog about it and it cleared things up. He even used scripture. I don't think those things kill your soul. You decision to sin like the people in the movie does, but not the decision to watch the movie. How else would we watch the news or read the Bible. There are horrible things there too. The Bible is pretty graphic. A king is descriptively stabbed.(Judges 3) That was really violent, but it doesn't make it wrong to read. God encourages us to read it. I'm not telling you to watch those if that's how you feel, everybody has their own beliefs, but that is what I sincerely feel about being a Christian and watching movies that exceed the PG rating. | |

He talks about Pharisees in the song and the Pharisees didn't have anything to do with "sinners" or "smokers" and would not welcome children openly like Jesus would. "The Pharisees would be content at the sight of me" I also think he is talking about himself in this song. The Pharisees are content with him because he is like them. So in the title he is agreeing with them "The Smokers and Children Shall be Cast Down" But he decides he doesn't want to be like that anymore in the song! ^_^ |
