" A quick look at the above will help clarify this song. To me, this song is showing the rough road of the awakening of a nihilist. This "happy nihilist" was satisfied with life, but empty. However, he dreams and burns of a need to be free. This is when the nihilist shifts from happy with living a life without meaning to wanting more, wanting to know "why?" and wanting to know that things have meaning. It is a transformation and awakening to a new life that accepts the road may not be (and, at this point IS NOT) smooth. All in all, I feel like this is a song about finding oneself and something to believe in instead of nothing. |
