| Foo Fighters – All My Life Lyrics | 2 years ago |
| @[Starfish45:46035] In French orgasms are called "La petite mort" which means "the little death." I assume this is what the line "feel it come to life when I see your ghost" is referring to. | |
| Mischief Brew – Midnight Special 2002 Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Pretty sure the line is "Before you mention schools or service, let's talk about crime" |

| Refused – Coup d'Etat Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I got the same feeling when i first read that line. Also it reminded me of "How to write ultimate protest songs" by Citizen Fish Specifically: Or if you decide to simplify And use four-letter words and spit in the sky Then they'll chant the slogans and won't even try To understand the reasons why Maybe he's a fan of Dick Lucas' song writing? Ignoring all of that, this song is fucking excellent. |

| Frenzal Rhomb – Please Go Over There (Featuring Lauren) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Actually maybe it is meant to be an argument or fight between Jay and Lauren (his girlfriend) Don't have to much to back it up with from the lyrics but the way it's performed with alternating vocals and the a duo seems to fit... |

| Frenzal Rhomb – 60, Beautiful, Mine Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Awesome, a fresh interpretation to a dated pop song. by the way it's "We're gonna do it our own way" not every way |

| Frenzal Rhomb – Punch in the face Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I always wondered whether it was ride or Ryde (a sydney suburb) I guess it could be seen as a rough suburb by North Shore teenagers, especially considering it's close vicinity. Also it would be a fantastically lame pun. |

| Frenzal Rhomb – Racist Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Awesome song (is that really a surprise from frenzal?) I think the line "my best friends are arseholes" is refering to the fact that intolerance and hatred go hand in hand and that hating someone for being racist (even though you know they are being idiotic) is just furthering the schism that forms in society. |

| Frenzal Rhomb – Please Go Over There (Featuring Lauren) Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Fucking excellent song, Lauren has a great voice for it and also shows how Jay's screaming has picked up as he's got older. I'm really not to sure who it is addressed to though... |

| Frenzal Rhomb – Suburban male Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Seems to be a song about Frenzal themsevles and people believing they have no credibility because they didn't come from a broken home or grow up on the streets and therefore aren't allowed to be a punk band. Seeing as they started from St Ives High (in a sheltered suburban area of Sydney known as the upper north shore) and this is a fairly early song it makes sense. |

| NOFX – Franco Un-American Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I've lived in Australia my entire life and it's alright but it's still a fucked up, backwards, racist/xenophobic, nationalist joke. seems to me to be the closest thing to the USA there is... I'm just hoping Canada will be better, i guess there is always New Zealand. |
|
| NOFX – Franco Un-American Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| just because someone has a different viewpoint from you like say, bio-centrism, and believes that all life is precious and deserves our respect or finding the way the food industry treats the animals and destroys parts of nature for profit does not make them dumb or mean they are talking about "stupid crap". | |
| New Order – Blue Monday Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I'd always thought the abusive relationship idea like many people as it fits with the lyrics so well... although the ideas of Ian Curtis seem applicable as well... but what interests me the most are the interpretations about war. it isn't something i'd thought about until today when i was reading Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut (excellent book - everyone should read it) and that the first page of the book is a cow saying "goodbye blue monday" (i think this is possibly the name of the book within the book so to say but that's unrelated) later it also mentions that one of the main characters only contact with war was writing "goodbye blue monday" on a bomb going to vietnam (i think?) so it got me thinking... is this song any relation to breakfast of champions or have they just been named from the same source? if they are related maybe the war story holds more truth... |

| I agree aenima i only just listened to this song properly and thought it was just a different version of another song on the album, only to realise that it was a QOTSA song i was thinking of. | |
