| Dracula is an entirely different song. | |

| This song is absolute crap; far below Gorillaz' normal standards on quality. What I don't understand is why they would even put it on one of their albums as a "bonus" track... this is the one bonus that nobody wants lol. | |

Who tried to give judahlion's comment a negative rating? In my opinion, he was completely correct. And @canofcoke01 I was completely with you until your second sentence. There is no such thing as a song you have to play backwards to interperate. Any words you can make out of this song while playing it backwards are just a result of the human mind's tendency to constantly attempt to make sense of things, whether it's a random sound, a fire, or even patterns in an oddly shaped piece of wood, if there is any way your subconcious mind can make a specific shape or word out of it , it will. Have you ever seen the picture of the world trade center colapsing that supposedly has the devil's face in it? It's the same concept at work there. I think the biggest, most common mistake that is made in interperating music is thinking too hard about it (like in the above post...). |

| Gorillaz – El Mañana Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| If you dislike the album that strongly, then it is because you are not reguarding it with an open mind. Far too many people are used to today's mainstream music which is extremely superficial and involves no depth of mind whatsoever, so when they listen to Gorillaz for the first time, they just think "wow that guy can't sing" and move on to a different band, but you have to look further than that to actually appreciate this music. Gorillaz has made some of the most deep and symbolic songs that I have ever heard. I have been listening to their music since this album came out, and there are still certain parts of the album that I have yet to fully understand, for example, the song "November" has proved very difficult to interperate. Because of its extreme depth and complexity, I do not even see the album as a set of individual songs, but rather one collective work of art, so I don't recognize any one song in the album as being better than another, because in my opinion, that would be like saying a hand is better than a foot. | |

"El Manana" can mean either a time in the future, tomorrow, or morning. "El Manana" does not mean "him tomorrow". The word "El" in Spanish does sometime mean "him" or "he", but in the Spanish language, nouns are all either femenine or masculine (which actually has nothing to do with gender- as most English speakers would expect), so when you put "El" or "La" in front of a noun, it just indicates whether the noun is femenine or masculine (in this case it is masculine). In my opinion, most (maybe even all) of you are over-analyzing it. I believe that the meaning of this song is much more universal than just a troubled relationship between a guy and a girl. I agree with the first paragraph of danni97lfc's response, but I'm not too sure about the rest. I see the floating island as a perfect ideal world, with no conflict or any kind of unpleasantness-- a dream (which is why it is floating up in the sky)-- but it is brought is back to reality and destroyed altogether by humans, which in my opinion, is saying something about human nature. My overall interperatation of this song's message is that mankind as a whole would like to live in a world of complete peace, but this ideal world is nothing but an unrealistic dream due to our violent and greedy nature. I have many other reasons for believing this, including the symbology of the windmill and the girl, but with all of my ideas reguarding this song, I could probably write an entire book on the subject, and I really don't feel like doing that much typing right now, so I will just leave it at that. |

| Gorillaz – Demon Days Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Those lyrics are incorrect. The real lyrics are: *In these demon days, it's cold inside You don't get nobody, people sigh It's so bad, lasting far, but love yourself Hiding in a hole in there All the glasses are too big Bring it back, got to hold it back To let you do that yet you don't want it back Before it fall down, falling down falling down *Falling out to go far from the sun Well these demon days are so cold inside It's so hard for a good soul to survive You can't even trust the air you breathe *Cause Mother Earth wants us all to leave When lies become reality *You numb yourself with drugs and T.V. Pick yourself up it's a brand new day So turn yourself 'round Don't burn yourself, turn yourself Turn yourself around to the sun To the sun, to the sun (repeat) The lines that were incorrect before, I marked with a (*). As for the meaning of this song, I completely agree with BoyNamedTim's post. |
