This song is so beautiful it literally brings tears to my eyes. Simon and Garfunkel somehow take the most intelligent, meaningful lyrics and put them to a melody straight from heaven. I wish everything in life was as wonderful as this song. |

so.... i was thinking this song was about how indie and obscure Arcade Fire used to be but now they're getting so popular (background music for the superbowl??!!) and theyre trying to deal with that. they don't want to turn their back on their loyal indie i-knew-them-before-anyone-else fans, but they want to grow as well. they dont want to sell out but they kind of do at the same time.
