This song is so much fun to listen to!
It has a very happy sound but there is definitely some substance in the undercurrent here. To me, the song is about having multiple sexual partners in life but not really connecting to any of them emotionally, since there are multiple "women and girls" that he meets, and he is "turning all [his] feelings into jelly and goo". The sex is good, so he's convincing himself that the lack of connection with these women doesn't matter..."it makes me angry when you are sitting next to me"...the women are good for nothing but sex.
"There's a fire in my house but it doesn't really matter cause I never put it out" says to me that he knows the meaningless sex is the wrong way to go about things, he knows he's making a mess of his romantic life, but it doesn't really matter because, like he says earlier on "now this is me". This is what sex has turned into for him and he doesn't know how to have it any other way. It's just a pleasurable experience devoid of emotional attachment. |

I think it's about appreciating the bad things that happen to us in life as learning experiences. He wants to get as much as he can out of life and become a better man by living through the "heartache and shame" instead of having a perfect life with romance, safety and comfort.
That's what I got out of it anyway. Beautiful song. |

I think it's dreams of robotic "screams" instead of "screens".
I love how the beat for this song has a post-apocalyptic feel to it. I'm not sure what it's about though. |

This is one of my favorite songs from Streets of Gold. I think it's pretty clearly about a relationship that has ended and the girl has moved on but he hasn't. In my opinion, 3OH!3 does just as well with meaningful songs as they do with fun, catchy pop songs. I like how they switch it up sometimes. |
