i just want to talk about one of my favourite lines,(and i think that you wont be able to reconize me now). this one sentence says so much for me. so hes sick, physicaly he looks different: pale, thinner, weak, and just sick. he also would be a very different person: he doesnt have any energy, he would be more secretive,and he would be depressed because of how being bulimic is recking his life, and health. hes a totaly different person all together, no one would really reconize him as himself befor the ed, hes bacialy a stranger. |

this song kinda sounds like two friends were doing a drug together. one friend(Josh) recovered, but the other one didn't. idk. it just sounds like they were messing up together and they helped each other hide the problem, but then one of them stopped doing it. he couldn't get the other guy to stop, hes still keeping his secrets but he wants him to stop. the guy doesnt want to though, so finaly he just kinda says " fine have it your way, im done". idk. im probaly complealy wrong but that's how i took the lyrics. anyways i am obsessed with this song, one of my faves! |

i loooooove this song. this song was kinda hard for me to listen to though because Josh is so gruesomely honest about his ed. he's clearly going through alot of pain in the song. Its sad to hear about anyone going through that, but this song is just so personal. i almost felt intruesive listening to it. i pritty much agree with most of what is said above. i just want to say that he might not be talking to his disease the WHOLE time. like when he says "Maybe you won't be able to recognize me now" it could mean that he's lost weight, he's pail, he looks sick, and he doesn't have any energy to do much more then simply live. hes alive but he's not living. he's not the person he used to be and people notice that he's changed in so many ways. |

first of all I LOVE THIS SONG! i always thought that this was a love song like CrazySciencePod said,but wouldntuliiketoknow compleatly changed my mind. this song is soooo about drug addiction, specificly recovery. heres what i think. this song might not be about josh, i think it might be about someones he knows, that hes helping get over an addition, or it could be to anyone who is going through an addiction. it could also be about someone helping him get over him problems too. When your tears are spent On your last pretense And your tired eyes refuse to close And sleep in your defense When it's in your spine Like you've walked for miles And the only thing you want is just to be still for a while - when your recovering from an addiction its not easy, you go kinda crazy and get sick. this person is going through alot of pain hense the crying. the person is done pretending they don't have a problem anymore, and wants to get better.the third and forth line i think is about insomnia. when he talks about your spine hurting that could be more side effects of quiting. the last line is about how your in pain,and your sick. your uncomfortable and you just want those feelings to go away. your tempted to go back to the drug, to make the bad feelings go away. I read an interview alittle while ago. Josh said that he was under alot of presure to get a new album out fast after fix me. but he said that he didnt want to put out a record just to put one out. he wanted it to be good, so he took a chance and took his time to make his masterpiece theater. i think that this song is about how he didnt want to let anyone down, including himself. he's trying his best to meet not only the fans exspectations, but his own. they're pushing and pushing for more, and he's trying his best, but the pressure isn't helping, its making it harder. Im happy that he did resist the pressure though because masterpiece theater is truely a masterpiece.:) |

this song is very touching to me. its about change and growing up. as marianastrenchfan said this song makes me scared for the future also. i think the lyrics "sometimes it remindes me of when we, we used to belong hear." sums up the meaning of the song for me. You grow up, and out of things, and when you see a picture or something, all the memories flood back. you wish those days were here again, but you know that things can never be like that again. very touching, one of my favourite mtrench songs. |

Josh is not gay, he has a girlfriend. I think that when he says " i never liked him anyway" he's talking about who he was when he had all his problems. "him" is who he was with all his addictions, he's looking back on who he used to be and doesnt like what he sees. Thats how I took the lyrics. Hope it helped:) |
