Norma Jean – Blueprints for Future Homes Lyrics 15 years ago
The song seems to be about destructive relationships in general. It's not necessarily about marraige or even dating. Like clockwork and like miracles means that this stuff happens over and over again and... the miracles part is lost to me. Maybe it's a miracle that we let it happen after seeing it so much? The part about halos and horns is about how people put on a fake exterior to those they want to like them and we often fail to see the bad in anyone. "The illusion of intelligence, a continuous sounding bell" seems to be about how their lack of knowledge about something, possibly about you, should be a warning bell to you about them hiding their true intentions and true personality. Interruption in the air and static is kinda like when you feel something is wrong but can't tell what it is, the hair on your neck stands up or you get goosebumps. And the line right before the chorus is when the person reveals his/herself a little bit. The chorus is of course about having the courage to stand up and say, yes this is what i really mean. Driving the vultures home is like telling that person to get out of your life because they're feeding their ego or whatever off of your misery and the hurt they cause. Of course one of the ways to stop vultures is to bury them which could be a reference to leaving that person forever, burying that relationship. Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are two things that people rely on in these situations, some pray to God, some turn to advice from people like oprah which often can be a bad idea in my opinion. A conscience being a wolf means that the other person in the relationship has a conscience that is hunting them down but fails to finally take over because the person has built walls and uses deception to keep you. Her charm is fleeting but her love just will not last seems to be self explanatory, the person has a "honeymoon" phase and then after that they go downhill, basically the entire premise of the song. the far from men part might be a reference to how the woman he's talking about cheats and goes out spending their time away from the person who loves them. "I will not sleep while you are throwing anchors to a drowning generation" means that he is doing everything he can to stop the influence that you cause by your actions which bring down a generation that is already losing itself in things that are harmful. Hell is empty, the devils are here is not only a belief held by christian doctrine that satan's demons are out here but also talks about how common it is that these types of negative influential people are.

Norma Jean – A Grand Scene For A Color Film Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this song is about letting go of what material possessions we hold on to in this world and looking to what comes after death. It's definitely supposed to have an apocalyptic meaning behind it. The great universal coma is the complete extinction of man. Everything being carved out by the Great Manipulator is a reference to how (from a christian perspective, not trying to offend any people who don't believe in christ) Satan has a foothold in mankind. Holding your hands upwards and around the eclipsing sun and it becoming empty and automatic is about those who call themselves Christians but just go through the motions and don't really believe. Just throwing it out there but the line "lets break out the shotguns we're going to town" could possibly be about getting rid of the stuff that is bringing us down and away from our relationship with God. User friendly grenades of course are non-existent, most likely a line directed at "the great manipulator" meaning that he is using friendliness and kindness to mask an evil intention. Basically the whole song is about how christianity has fallen from it's roots and become more of a religion than the relationship it started as and was for quite some time.
