Love this song, his voice is so full of emotion. Erm, I don't have the album yet so don't know the official lyrics (if there even is an official version)so I may be wrong but to me it sounds like the lyrics are "I look for change but only find INDIFFERENCE" and "I wonder if HE will ever be spared." Might just be my ears though ;] As for what the song means I quite like the version MichaelHutcheon gave, although maybe not cheated, but just didn't give the time and attention to the relationship (raise your glass I'm not home tonight) but also it kinda seems like it could be a two way thing, a destructive relationship (these open wounds you gave me) 'making cuts with a plastic knife' could be seen as using little seemingly harmless things to wound each other, again referring to a destructive relationship. On an aside, I think the line 'growing old in the glare of a spotlight' probably refers to the fame he's found with the 'prophets because a lot of the time you hear about in interview him saying how much people hate on him and the band and judge everything they do and all the rumours etc. But idk, it's all just an opinion at the end of the day and it'll mean something different to everyone depending on their points of view ;] |
