| Inspiral Carpets – This Is How It Feels Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I heard this song is about a woman who has been having an affair. Her lover has killed himself and so she is depressed, but unable to tell her family why. Seems like the correct interpretation to me. |

Has anyone ever found out what Brett is singing in the full version, at the point when it goes in to a musical interlude and the vocals are really muffled? I've only ever been able to make out the odd line or two, and it is something like: I don’t need to do that thing here... ...Not tonight, not going to see the band... ..Not tonight I'm gonna be sick... ...I’m gonna spew Don't take me down to the park with the cars Don't take me there Take me somewhere else Sounds a bit freaky. I also have a live version of this track and it sounds like Brett sings something completely different, only Wikipedia mentions '16 tears' which is in this live version and is apparently a lyric from the original version (though you can’t hear those words at any point in the song). Here's what I can make out - the brackets denote uncertainty over the lyric, the ? is where I have no idea: See our lives in the shadow of a gun Trippy little girl where the pigs don't come 16 tears for every year Hooked up together with the [burning year] Here lies the shadow of a gun Standing in the sky like ...?.. [Tina had the floor] and the child in my bed .....?..........?........... and the lice in the bed .....?..........?........... to the tune of a scream Looked out his window he saw the gas fire on He saw a fat cow in a single bed Ripping up a storm like ..?.. for the dead See our lives in the shadow of a gun Trippy little girl where the pigs don't come 16 tears for every year Hooked up together with the [burning year] Here lies the shadow of a gun Hanging in the sky like a [heart] from the sun Smashed and grab with the concrete dream of a ..?.. ...?....... to the tune of a scream Fat cow ...?... through the trees Half way down the city on his hands and knees See our lives in the shadow of a gun Trippy little girl where the pigs don't come 16 tears for every year Hooked up together with the [burning year] |

| Suede – Killing Of A Flash Boy Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I don't think Anderson would attack a musical genre and suggest it leads people to killing, though there may be the suggestion that certain types of people are susceptible to influence. I don't really know what it's about, but I know Anderson has (or used to have) a fascination with violence and so this is possibly just a fantasy sequence of a gang murdering a 'Flash Boy'. The video for this song is pretty much that take on it, and fits the song perfect. As with all Suede songs, there are lines that are really ambiguous. Like "She'll be a sucker for the shotgun show" What does that mean? Also it's "here we go" not "he we go" as the lyrics here state. |

| Like all Suede songs there seems to be many references to many things. I know nureyev is a ballet dancer, but that's all. I'd be interested to know what this is about, as well as all other Suede songs! | |
