Doesn't it also kinda sound like "silence slipping through the hidden door"? Synapse makes sense though because she was already talking about circuitboards, and synapse would be the impulse travelling between nerves. |

So the actual lyrics: Can you lie next to her And give her your heart Your heart, as well as your body And can you lie next to her And confess your love Your love, as well as your folly And can you kneel before the king And say I'm clean, I'm clean But tell me now, where was my fault In loving you with my whole heart A white blank page and a swelling rage You did not think when you sent me to the brink You desired my attention but denied my affections So tell me now, where was my fault In loving you with my whole heart Lead me to the truth and I Will follow you with my whole life So... The first verse is all about being true and faithful to your partner. And.. one of two things. 1) The girl...(maybe)was with him and then moved to another guy and he's telling the other guy that he can be all those things to the girl and love her more than he can. And more proof for that is "A white blank page and a swelling rage" whie blank page meaning starting off on a fresh new slate kinda thing (The girl moving on to a new relationship) and a swelling rage... he's not happy about it. aha. Perhaps they almost got together and she sent him to the brink by leading him on and wanting attention but not wanting anything more. aaaand 2) Perhaps the singer was not all those things in the first verse in past relationships... (I'm a litle iffy on this one now) But he's saying to the girl like, does all that really matter if i love you with all my heart. "tell me now where was my fault in loving you with my whole heart" and then "lead me to the truth and i will follow you with my whole life" saying like, guide me in the right direction and i'll do anything for you and be faithful and love you for the rest of my life and like making up for his mistakes almost. anyway enough babbling, such a good song and such a good band <3 |

I love this song and I love AFF and after reading the lyrics really thoroughly, I thought she was talking about a relationship. the first verse, talking about how a guy really wasn't ready for a commitment or maybe he just had to go-he was a model of freedom. It sounds like something close to a breakup when she talks about "hey, you, ya you gotta be leaving," or maybe he's moving away, kinda bittersweet. "we are doomed but we wanted more" they split up because it was fo the best, but they still love eachother. "i won't ever be caught crying and i will not be taken lying down" she's gonna be tough through this situation and try not to be vulnerable. and finally, **"It's the times we say that no one's gonna take your place it's a mistake to blow away" i think is the main statement in this song. When your in love you think that person is the only one. Then you break up and move on and realise, there are other people out there for you. But its okay to feel that way, your just in love. It's just a little mistake at the time- one to blow away:) |
