This song is just perfect. Great lyrics with music to match, along with Ben's vocals. I cry every time I watch the video for this on Directions. :[ It makes you wish that there was someone that would love you throughout your whole life, and maybe even in death, if it came down to it. |

I love this song so much. It seems so identifiable to everyone. The lyrics are beautiful, but no surprise there. It seems like everything seemed perfect for a while, but then they realize that this relationship wasn't meant to last. It also seems like they rushed things: "Well I lost track and then those words were said, you took the wheel and you steered us into my bed, and soon we woke and I walked you home and it was pretty clear that it was hardly love." It's like these two people we were really close while they were together, but then as the summer ended, they drifted apart. I think the line, "You were so condescending" is the result of fights or disagreements, as well as "Constant quarreling, the childish fits." This song is beautiful. I still haven't gotten tired of it. It kind of reminds me of "Summer Skin." <3 |
