This song is just awesome. I know this may sound weird, but I was writing the prelude to a "sex scene" in a story and could just not find the right notes. The girl had just been through a hellish marriage to a man she did not love but agreed to marry to save a very close friend and the guy was the bastard son of a pirate. At first I had him and her being real unemotional and then slowly working up to the sex, but it just felt wrong. Now I have it so he walks in on the girl holding a knife and crying. The tone of this song just set the scene I needed and I am so thrilled I heard it before I went nuts. Skillet is just awesome! |

I think that's kind of what he means. If you listen, he's talking about being at war with the world because he refuses to "sell his soul" and they keep trying to "pull him into the dark". But he refuses to because he is who he is and no one can change that. |
