Page wrote these lyrics as well as the music. He is just a friggin genius and underrated as a guitarist (I think he's better than Clapton, Hendrix, etc.) and especially as a songwriter. Probably one of the most versitile songwriters in history.

I read that Elton's boyfriend at the time wrote the lyrics and then Elton wrote the music to it in ten minutes. I love this song, it's very powerful and reminds me of something Paul McCartney would write.

this song is amazing, it gives you not just the words but the feel, bringing money and insanity together. the odd time signiture of this song and the trippy baseline are overwhelming, just like the feel you get when you taste money and suddenly you change. your greed takes over and you want more money, power, etc. truly an amazing song and it is well put an honest, yet i cant call it hypocritical of them.

This is such an amazing song. I agree with mostly everybody's comments. It's about how sometimes we are overwhelmed with problems, responsibilities, and emotions when really it doesn't matter what we do. It's a comparison between time in our lives and time in the Earth's life. I remember in earth science class two years ago, my teacher handed out a geological timeline and humans were just a line at the top. We didn't even have any depth, whereas other creatures had a about an inch gap. To think that in the Earth's perspective, Columbus discovered America fractions of seconds ago. The scale of everything is so much larger compared to us in a universal scale.

The Kinks – Lola Lyrics

Love this song, and obviously the resolution to the song was that Lola was indeed, a transvestite. To make any other interpretation would be silly, and though I noticed the little play on words at the end, I don't think thats what Ray Davies meant. I read somewhere that this song was written about an experience of the band's manager, Robert Wace, where he had been dancing with a black "woman" all night who actually wasn't a woman at all! Sick!

This song is absolutely breathtaking, Jimmy Page is so incredible, how can anyone call him a fraud? Maybe he borrowed some stuff in the beginning of his career, big deal, the man created beautiful songs in all different styles. In my opinion, Jimmy Page is the best guitarist of all time.

Led Zeppelin – Going to California Lyrics	15 years ago
This is probably my favorite Led Zeppelin song, who's also my favorite band. The medley between the guitar and mandolins along with Plant's soft yet powerful voice reminds me of a medieval expedition of some sort. It is definately one of my favorite songs of all time if not my absolute favorite, and I wish Page wrote even more songs like these. This song is the definition of timeless.
