To me this song is about how you daydream about the perfect life and being rescued by your prince charming but in reality there are no happy endings. The line "bury the castle" is to say bury your childish daydreams and start living in reality. The music video supports this how at the end the little girl with the butterfly wings falls into a grave and Hayley throws her doll in with her then Josh starts filling the grave in. |

I have no clue on the subject of the deeper meaning of this song, but I felt the need to write this to defend it. This song is AMAZING! I don't know what it is, but it sends chills down my spine. And sorry to all the Twilight haters out there- but I heard it on the Eclipse soundtrack and during the movie I was like "OH MY GOD this is a perfect song for the bad vampires <3" So I give this song five stars. |
