| The Airborne Toxic Event – The Kids Are Ready to Die Lyrics | 14 years ago |
@todoublem the first verse seems to talk about how all teens feel in general wanting to be free, rebellious, law breaking, and just wanting to have fun, but feeling like they're falling apart i think the second verse is more about what teens are going through now-a-days teens feel lots of pressure on them, and there have been so many school shootings and suicides these days with teens that its flooded the media and the song isn't just about the kids doing those things but the kids having to deal with a friend doing it or a kid just seeing it on the news. im a teen and i admit its scary hearing about kids my age or younger doing these things, i don't know what i would do if a someone i knew did something drastic like this lines that make me think this: "kids are lining up on the wall..." "and the boy by the side of the road he had a gun in his hand" "i thought oh what could you say to make it ever make sense to his mother" "oh man he was excitable, we were just trying to make him a man" "you can only lie for so long before you get something drastic" last thought, "the kids are lining up on the wall and they're ready to die" sounds like hes saying the kids have just given up and don't know what to do i hate saying that there is one meaning to a song, because it can mean something different to everyone, this is just my interpretation based on hearing the song |

| Phoenix – Rome Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i don't know what it is about this song whether its the lyrics, the tone of it, the delivery or all of them combined, but it hits me. it makes me think. i'm still pretty young, but it makes me think about the past, good times bad times, things i will never forget, people. it makes me think of what i want to do in my future, it makes me think about my life and life in general. it kinda makes me sad too. remembering all the good times at a younger age that i can't ever relive with people, and places i've been to. i don't know what the song really means, it does sound like some love and lost like other comments have explained, but this song has a lot of personal meaning for me in the sense that it makes me think of a lot of different things. not a lot of songs can do that, everything has to be perfect, lyrics tone and delivery, and Phoenix hit it out of the ball park for me on this one. beautiful song, great band, just amazing!!! |

the lyrics in this song are so powerful! "There's nothing to do but I don't mind when I'm with you" "You said the past won't rest until we jump the fence and leave it behind" "My old friends, I can remember when You cut your hair, I never saw you again Now the cities we live in could be distant stars And I searched for you in every passing car" i think it's about growing up in the suburbs and wanting to run away with someone close to him (like a girlfriend) because he might be fighting with his parents, the war, but then the person he's close to leaves him or the town(probably leaves the town because the lyrics "i search for you in every passing car" seems like he is looking for them because they moved), and he forgets about all his friends, and everyone else he cared about. Also this thought occurred to me while listening: the person close to him runs away without him, based on these lyrics "You cut your hair, I never saw you again" just my thoughts great song love the new album |

love this song and the lyrics are pretty correct except the chorus i think the lyrics are So get up so get out well come on As we fall into ourselves The future is still ours so hold on Cause we'll take it from the shelves So get up so get out well come on As we fall into ourselves The future is still ours so hold on Cause we'll take it from the shelves FP's lyrics can be difficult to decode for sure so i could be hearing it wrong just my thoughts on the lyrics |

i think it is "a series of dead when tensions burst" |
| The Airborne Toxic Event – Neda Lyrics | 15 years ago |

so powerful i do think the lyrics are "And the loss of your innocence was enough" because it took one death in a peaceful protest to get people all over the world to see what was going on great band i'm glad they wrote this song |
| The Airborne Toxic Event – Wishing Well Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i think its about having to deal with losing someone close to you weather through death or just going your separate ways correct me if im wrong but this was the first song he wrote and before he wrote it, his girlfriend broke up with him, his mom was diagnosed with cancer, and he was diagnosed with two diseases, Alopecia areata and Vitiligo (the loss of hair in some spots and discoloration of the skin is basically what those are) all in the same week. There is a line in the song that points to those two diseases "So you tear at your hair and you scratch at your skin" his girlfriend is sort of the end of song, it seems like he talking about her dying but i think thats sort of the way he felt when she left, he felt like she died to him "you thought suicide was an alibi" his mom is the wishing well part of it. he wishes she will turn out well anyway great song great band and the meaning of it can be different to anyone |
