Motion City Soundtrack – Hold Me Down Lyrics 15 years ago
I think it's about being in a wonderful relationship, but realising that you could be doing so much more. Sort of like being caught between love and what you want to do with your life. "She" wrote a letter for him, because shse just couldn't do it in person, and told him this. She still loves him, but she feels held back, and she can't live with herself.

Personally, I think the last few verses: "You're the echoes of my everything..." are what she wrote him. And the middle verses (that are classic Pierre, by the way) are about him coping with what's happening; with each verse ending in "You hold me down' showing how he can't stop thinking about what she said.

....Yeah, that's what I figured it was...or maybe I'm just reflecting some personal experience onto it. Who the hell knows? *Insert shrug here*

Motion City Soundtrack – Make Out Kids Lyrics 15 years ago
For me, this song has always been about the stupidity of young love. How we tend to rush into a relationship to enjoy the physical aspects of it, without getting to know someone. And then we mistake the sex for love, and think we'll be together forever. And sure, for awhile we feel invincible: But then, there's the realization that you don't really know the other person, because you two were never "best friends," (basically, you never took the tme to get to know each other.) And so, this epiphany coupled with a changing enviroment can tear a relationship apart...

...but despite all of that, you'll never forget them...

"We fail to keep in touch these days.../Hollowed by circumstance that pushed us both away"
