This song is not even about religion, it's about an interpersonal revelation. Verse 1: He's got it - apperance, control, sympathy, generousity. Verse 2: He can point out the perfect girl, and he can charm her in a very deep romantic way, and this perfect romantic relationship is true in every way, yet he knows he still has urges considered a (ideal, not necessary religious) sin, at least HE FEELS so. What these urges are we don't know. But because he has good intentions and he realizes this, and totally accepts this as you can tell by his brutal honesty, he gets tremendous confidence. Metaphor for confidence=motor, metaphor for sin=satan. He is lost to his urges and he accepts this completely and sympathizes with Satan in his mind wheter he belives in him or not. He looses some control("normal" life with perfect girl) for something he can control, and so he goes off on a ego-trip praising his control. Rest is just good music. |

it's about powerman obviously and the democracy deception. it's about our society almost ever man fighting for power, but in our days we do it in the name of money, not of war. it's the same old story, it's the same old game, only a few new rules applied. for us people to survive we must obey powermans laws, but ultimatley we're fighting for love, so we will never be his slave, though it may appear as such for him. only people powerman regards as enemies are other powermen in his way of powering. i love this song, because it tells the truth without dealing with aliens, nazi flying saucers, illuminati and other bs, whoever powerman is, he is evil, he's a jerk and he is very very dumb for constructing this "smart" way of living that distracts himself from being a human being. love kinks, love wes anderson=perfect combination! |
