This song always reminded me of a friend that I used to be so close to, but then some things happened and everything changed. I used to visit him a lot and then I missed him so much but couldn't go visit him anymore. The funny part was when he actually moved recently and I was thinking to myself that the song is literal to me now except that I'd take a bus not a train and that I know he's not dead. I used to think about going to his old address anyway before I knew he moved and even now after he'd told me that (we still talk over the phone occassionally when there's something I need) last time we talked, but I don't do it usually because I know I'll be thinking the exact same: Back on the train I asked why did I come again Can I confess I've been hanging around your old address And years have proved To offer nothing since you moved You're long gone And I can't move on |
