I don't know who posted the lyrics, but yes, you are correct. The word is "scent" not "sound." |

| Pearl Jam – Sirens Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
I'm pretty sure the "sirens" hear are not police sirens. They are the Sirens of Greek mythology. Those women who lured sailors to their doom with the undeniable voices. Eddie talks about the sirens, and how his choices and mistakes (pulled in by the sirens) were never meant to drive his real love away (or to another man). And on a side note, just because a singer vocally breaks up a word to fit the melody does not mean you have to break the word in the lyrics. Lyrics should read like a poem, which I'm sure what this was when Eddie first wrote it: it's a fragile thing this life we lead if I think too much I can get overwhelmed by the grace by which we live our lives with death over our shoulders |

| Diving with Andy – Sugar Sugar Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| She is singing about an affair or one night stand. She sings that the she wakes up with the sunrise and that rise and shine is a lie. That means that there is no feeling, only a desire to leave and not have to lie about feeling any "shine" in this situation. She'll certainly never make tea for this person - that would require too much interaction. In fact, she'd be more likely to make tea for a stranger - partly because she make the boundaries very clear in that situation. | |
