Pulp – Wishful Thinking Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I'm surprised no one has commented on this one... I think the song is pretty straight forward; this man has an intimate night with a woman and develops very strong feelings for her but for one reason or another the feelings don't seem mutual. He has a "dull aching pain" for her and wants her to come around again but by the last verse it's obvious that he'll probably never see her again; she isn't heeding to any of his calls and he has to deal with the love inside of him. Beautiful song =) |

Sea Wolf – The Traitor Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I wonder if this song has anything to do with their other song, 'Rose Captain'... |
Sea Wolf – Winter's Heir Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Hmmm..I think this song corresponds with The Traitor. In 'The Traitor' part of the lyrics are: "Oh Captain, you ask yourself I miss her of the raven hair What future did you behold When you stole me away from there" And then part of the lyrics of this here song are: "I see you there upon your chair In the light of winter's air And your emerald eyes and raven hair In the light of winter's heir" So...perhaps the narrator got his lady with the raven hair back =) |

Pulp – Blue Glow Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Just a few corrections So late looking up at your window as it bathes me in your blue midnight glow I wonder why you're not sleeping and I wonder if you could know Tonight make it tonight Tonight make it tonight Crouched down by a bush at the roadside I watch as you pass me by Lost down by the side of the river and no light comes from the empty sky Tonight make it tonight Tonight make it tonight I left home at midnight Made for the horizon, no sense of direction I walked on for miles, oh [. From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/p/pulp-lyrics/blue-glow-lyrics.html .] I hope that I find you I hide from the headlamps no lights in the window The whole town is sleeping and somewhere you lie, oh I wish I could find you Oh I'm lost by the river My clothes are in tatters, my face scarred by branches I'm shivering with cold, no I don't think I'll find you Tonight make it tonight Tonight make it tonight Won't you make it tonight? Oh say you'll meet me tonight Won't you make it tonight? Say you'll meet me tonight. |
Pulp – She's Dead Lyrics | 13 years ago |
It's kind of like a sad lullaby...the tune is so soothing while the lyrics are heartbreaking |
Editors – The Diplomat Lyrics | 13 years ago |
few things with the lyrics...I'm pretty sure it's "Right on time / You're an angel" and "Someone hit the breaks we're gaining too much speed" good song though =) |
Vampire Weekend – A-Punk Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love this song! It always makes my day! But I will add on a few of my thoughts of what could be meant in some of the lyrics. "Look outside at the raincoats coming, say "oh"" --It's already specified that Johanna's previous lover has cancer since she found him and the ring in "sloan-kettering" and I'm thinking that in this verse, it signifies his death and funeral. In most films when a funeral is going on, it's always raining and almost everyone in the funeral procession are wearing raincoats. So in this, I think she is seeing his funeral procession go by and she simply says "Oh." "His Honor drove southward seeking exotica Down to the pueblo huts of New Mexico Cut his teeth on turquoise harmonicas" --With these verses, it seems that Johanna's previous lover went out of the country for his last moments of life so he could relax and have fun. And with the "Cut his teeth on turquoise harmonicas" I think that may be referring to his cancer. Maybe he had bone cancer and in his last days out of the country, he was getting weaker and weaker and his teeth were falling apart. Just my thoughts on a few things! They are such a wonderful band =D! |
Vampire Weekend – Exit Music (For a Film) (Radiohead cover) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I swear...when he's singing, he says "walking" instead of "warm" but I could be wrong |
