CocoRosie – Werewolf Lyrics 15 years ago
I think the song is about several things. It starts out with her talking about how she's gone through her life without a real father, and "Yeah, I suck dick." is her saying "Yeah, I do things I shouldn't." She's letting go of reality, because everything is falling apart. She wants to lose her memories of her past, the care of her parents because she's not what they wanted her to be, and her first love. The part about the grave and the brothers, is possibly her missing her family but knowing she can't go back? Flowers in the water, are like little things that she holds on to to desperately try to repair her relationship with her father. The line "But, I'm just his daughter" is her saying she isn't important to him. The part about the weeping willow, is her sort of like saying she's sick of seeing people mourn him or pity her loss. She's trying to be as heartless as her father, and shut it out. Then the chorus is her talking about how she is abandoning everything, to start again.

Then she begins to talk about her father, and how he is evil. She talks about how he had a shitty home life as a child, and he ruined his mother's marriage. That leads us to believe his evils came from harboring for that. Then she talks about how he has nice eyes, like it's a facade. Then she goes on to say that her father is cheating on her mother with a lot of different girls, but it is making him unhappy. He takes what he wants from these women, and feel guilty later. She's telling him laugh now, enjoy it.

Then the next part, about the dream, about the father. That is from God, possibly a memory from her childhood about how she was told to keep what was sacred to her. She didn't do that, and so this is about her disappointing another male figure in her life.

Then she is talking again, about her first love. She didn't mean to walk away and shut him out, but he hurt her. He had sex with her, possibly against her will, and he also emotionally abused her. He left her completely in shambles, and she had to turn to someone who was just like this man, and like her father. Neglecting, possibly abusive. She says it was the same situation with all three of them.

She has dreams, memories that upset her deeply that she can't shake. She sees real love all the time, in corny movies, in real life, and she knows it is a victory she will never taste. Then the repetition of the chorus represents her strength, overcoming all the bad that has gone on, to build herself up from it.
