This song, I believe, is a call out to a friend who committed suicide. As saddening as suicide is, this song makes it almost a positive experience. It is a reassurance and a promise to his friend that is all ok even with him gone. "I know your just where you want to be" and "But I love your troubles are now gone" are such incredibly unselfish lyrics, shows true compassion of the person experiencing a friend's suicide. For me this song shows the utterly generous heart of the person who wrote this song. Knowing a person close to me who committed suicide, I viewed it as a completely selfish act. This song opened my eyes to a different chain of thoughts. Death is a part of life: make celebration of the person's life. |

The lyrics to this song make me happy to be alive, not because they are in anyway positive but because people write like this. Cocorosie forms words that others can't. Best line: "yeah I suck dick." This song reminds me not to go for that "generic love shit. first kiss frog and princess." |

I agree iheartmanatees, this is one of the most romantic songs I have ever heard. In my world it is about a feminist woman who is giving up her beliefs about the independent woman to be the man she is so deeply in love with. It isn't necessary that the man has forced her to make this decision, it is about her willingness because she know the best thing she can give him is everything she is. The details about the housewife duties serves as a dual fuction of listing all the menial tasks she wants to do in his honor and a caustic reference at housewives through the years. As a feminist it seems so wrong. But there is a certain rightness to the wrong. I have yet to feel this deep genuine connection to a man, but this song makes me fantasize about it all the more. |
