I take this song as rwo realizing how in love they really were AFTER they had broken up. Like in the beginning "Hey, you know this could be something" and the were both falling. But for whatever reason, it didn't quite work. Then after they had broken up they realized that they really were in love, and how great that love could be. |

This song is super powerful. It really makes you think. The general meaning is pretty much just given straight with the lyrics, but after you think about it there are a few things that could be added.
The first time I heard this song I was automatically like "Wow!", because it's so true, who's gonna be there when you die? If you treated your friends well, they'll probably be there, you're love if, again, you treated them well. It has so much to do with the kind of like you live. What if you get into drugs, live in the street.. Then who's gonna watch you die? Who's gonna watch you die if you don't let anyone into you're life? Who's gonna watch you die if you experience a fatal crash drunk driving? No one... No ones gonna watch you die. But if you live a good life, you'll most likely die with all the ones you love around. This song is a good one... It makes you think, 'When I die, I want to make sure the last person I see, is the person i'll miss most.' |
