These lyrics are kinda off pretty sure it's "love cherry" not "love charity" and it's definitely "make those fuckers pay" not "make those fuckers pray" that being said, this song is just him being angry for how he's never been truly happy and never truly satisfied with his life because he always thinks about how he and Nina's relationship and his personal life could be better. Maybe because of his indie fame he thinks he is now a cartoon of himself, which I guess he really kind of is. This song has some of the best lyrical work this side of the 70s, definitely the highlight of the album and maybe of his career. |

| This song is about the beauty of psychedelic drugs, obviously. It's word-for-word describing the feeling you get after a good trip where you have a newfound appreciation for everyday feelings and experiences. The flowers have never looked so blue, everything looks new again in that old familiar way. You might have seen the same view from your room every day of your life, but suddenly you see the beauty in it and it makes you realize that you shouldn't take it for granted. This could be the theme song for mushrooms (one of Kevin's favorites). | |

This song describes exactly what it feels like when you do psychedelic drugs. You start coming down and have an overwhelming appreciation for the small things in life (especially your parents for some reason) and as soon as i heard the line: "And if I ever go back home I'm Gonna settle And tell my momma, I love Her so and thank you for Giving me these bones" I instantly knew that it was about coming down from psychedelics. Also the song suggests feelings of remorse for the way he has lived, which also fits my idea. Its totally about the post-tripping feelings you get. |

| God... girls need to understand EVERY SONG IS NOT ABOUT A FREAKING RELATIONSHIP!!! "black star" is a nickname for LSD or acid. For the most part, people will assume that if somebody does drugs, then all their life problems can be traced back to that, even though most of the problems would have probably arisen anyways. | |

Why does everyone always think every song is about a relationship? Even when it is SO clearly about drugs? He feels like as a drug user he doesnt fit into a society that looks down upon drug use. The first stanza pretty much describes my life when i binge im sure it describes his life all the time lol. (the bends is the ULTIMATE stoned music, not break up music.) the most obvious line is "you have me alone in a room full of friends"... thats drugs, not a relationship |
