This is one of the strongest, most meaningful songs not only on the CD, but also that I have ever heard. The lyrics, music, and Brandon Bolmer's new sound paints an image in my mind that no other song has ever done before. It's such a powerful song; it gives me the chills. Fucking Kudos. |

Personally, I think that this song doesn't literally mean a haunted town - but the song will mean something different to anyone on a personal level. I think it has to do with being trapped where you live. Where that area just drags everyone down with it, haunted by the misfortunes of it's inhabitants. "This town has its claws buried in my neck, This town - it takes life without mercy, without hate" That means to me, it grabs you, and keeps you there, no matter how badly you want to leave & it takes your dreams and life down with it, "without mercy, without hate" because it doesn't have a conscience, its just an inanimate object. It's just a doomed ghost town. "I'm sinking, it won't be to long until before I'm too deep to run " that just strengthens my opinion on my eyes, maybe not yours though. "Because this city, this city is haunted by ghosts from broken homes Because this city, this city is haunted, there's no hope, left for these souls" That means to me, broken homes - broken dreams. Just a plague on this area, it's a dead end for the people that live there. Souls doesn't necessarily mean *dead* you know. I am not going to pick apart the entire song through my eyes, but basically: this town is a dead end, its trapping him, and every day that goes on he gets brought down further and further until theres no where else to go but die there. |
