| The Antlers – Kettering Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| My take on this song ia that it's about a doctor who had a past accounted with a women in which he owed her a favor. When she got bone cancer (abused by the bone that refused you) he was thus ablidged to help her. So he started treating her like a docter would a patient (smile). However her condition got continually worse (I translate hirricane thundercloud as a sign of worse to come) and he came to care for her (which may be attributed to him having had a prevous relationship with her or that because he owed her he felt more responsible about her worsening condition). I don't know if I'd describe this as a love story or a really emotional day for someone who is used to keeping their distance. It is for sure one of the saddest songs I've ever heard. | |
| Bright Eyes – Arienette Lyrics | 15 years ago |

what caught me was "So don't leave me here with only mirrors watching me" for me this means he's scared to look at himself as he's scared to see the weak, sad, angry, wicked, and desperate traits that he's describing, within himself. He wants this Arienette, the girl who he sees as pure, to take him away from all the horrible things a person can have within themselves, and perhaps the things he himself has done. She's his silver lining. |
