Thank God for His grace that has covered us, which is what i believe the song to be about; not just His unconditional love. No matter what we have done, where we are at(spiritually), He has poured His love for you because He loves us. "..Hey unfaithful, hey ungraceful, hey unloving I will love you[/Teach You]..." It's a learning process guys, he doesn't expect us to come clean, he cleans us. |

I'm glad for not a religious person you can see God's unconditional love for ALL of us, not just those who have chosen to follow the truth. And it is about a personal relationship, we all can have one with Him. and as for the "religious" comment, simple quote. "The greatest con against Christianity is that it is a religion; when in fact it is a relationship" |

One thing I think that has been mildly overlooked is that both the lion and the wolf attack together. "As they both rush upon you and Rip open your flesh The lion eats his fill and then The wolf cleans up the mess" In a reply on here I wrote about satan's lies. I think part of the point is He works with whatever temptation we struggle with(the wolf), he uses these temptations as doors to get to us. I think the door opening is the act of allowing our temptation to get the better of us, but the attack is both us and Satan beating ourselves up over it and not focusing on the healing Christ can bring to us. The wolf cleaning up the mess is our continual struggle with "unworthiness", when in fact there is nothing we can do, God's grace has covered our sin.. We can live free..... |

Anything deceiving and hurtful=satan's lies. He cleans up the mess as in guilts us and tells us how unworthy we are after we let sin(our pride) over come us, but he also lets the sin in. He knows how to attack us, he knows how each of us are wired and knows what sin can get us. |

Just a reply about Jesus not being your friend. That is why(partly) he came, to reestablish a personal relationship with us. Since the fall it was not the same, God bridged the gap for us because there is no way we could possibly do it. Only through Christ Jesus that could be made again. So Yes He is our best friend and we CAN have a personal relationship with Him. However, He also is the King of Man like you said(because He is God, the Trinity) so we must also give Him the glory He deserves. And yes its okay to ask things of God and just "talk" with him, but we also must set aside a time for him and we must praise Him with sincere hearts. Sorry I could go on...... |

Gen 8:21 "...Never again will I curse the ground because of man, EVEN THOUGH EVERY INCLINATION OF HIS HEART IS EVIL FROM CHILDHOOD, and never..." I understand what you mean but i'd think of the wolf more as our heart/sinful desires but also the devils temptations? |

Rynych, I realize this "debate" is old, last post was 2008. But the guy up there had a point, a guy does not put aside his beliefs and morals when writing a song or doing whatever they do. A person living for God(who Dustin appears to be very much so) lives by what he believes and cannot put these things aside. To be bold, for my self, I know I cannot deny God. What He has done for me and His love for me. In everything I do I try to think about how Christ would go about it, yeah I'm not perfect at all, I screw up. The point is I don't just throw my beliefs to the way side and do things outside of Christ. Secondly, Christianity is no egocentric, or not supposed to be. It is meant to be about Christ, what he's done for you and what he has for you. That does sound a bit egocentric but it is not the way it is intended. The faith is not based upon what you can do, but what has been done for you. Christ loved you and died for you, there is nothing you can do for him that he cannot do on His own. I wont directly quote scripture but God has created us for His glory, and for His works. We are called to "make diciples of all nations" and be Christ like. There is nothing egocentric about that. Being Christ like, how was He? who was He? His life was devoted to people, His people. He served out of love for his creation. We are called to do the same. YES people do get wrapped up in there own life and what they can do and make it a very serlfish thing about what makes them look best etc. That however is not how it is intended. I don't expect you to fully understand, I don't even and cannot fathom all these thing, and His love for me. Sorry I know this is long, but the whole thing about it being for His glory I feel I need to explain further to represent Him a bit better. This is just something I am beginning to understand myself. Yes it is for His glory, making our lives "not our own"(however we have freewill to do as we wish). This can seem like a sucky concept, and something to not look forward to it. But it is the opposite. The way we glorify God(and no this is not how everyone lives once again........) is living for him and letting Him use us. But in this He has great things for us, He loves us, he does not want to see us suffer. thats it for now....... |
