| Jeremy Camp – Lay Down My Pride Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| If you're struggling with Him, you're gonna realize you have to do it God's way sooner or later. It'll either be after a long time of running away from him, or sooner. Lay down your pride. You are not your own. You are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for you to do. Lay down my pride. | |

| I think this is my favorite song by Dire Straits, and maybe my favorite song. | |

Really like this one. About the ups and downs of life. "standing on the throttle" - when life seems great, everything's going well and you just don't want to stop "standing on the brakes" - when life seems like it's crashing "in the groove til you make a mistake" - that's sure what it feels like when you hit the bumps in life. Also really love the sound of this one, a little of their classic sound mixed with the newer influences. Really good song for those long trips. Kind of goes back to the allegory of life as a drive/trip. |

There are some mistakes on this: Corrections: Fire it on up and let's cruise a while, Leave your troubles far behind. My oh my, how this lady can fly, Once she starts rollin' beneath you. It's not a big surprise to feel your temperature rise, You've got a touch of redline fever. It's definitely about driving his clean corvette. One of my favorite cruising songs. The correct lyrics support this. |

| Dire Straits – Lady Writer Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Guru, totally agree. I always sensed some sadness in the line "I recall my fall from grace". To me it sounds like it was a heavily one sided relationship, and seeing the lady on TV is bringing back all those memories. He's still not over her. But she obviously is, "only talked to me when she felt like it". The Lady Writer on the TV seems just like her, the same "type". | |

| best bass ever. | |
| Dire Straits – Water Of Love Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Amazing song! Can't believe there aren't more comments. In my opinion, one of Dire Straits' top 5. The mechanics of the song are amazing: the grueling monotony of the drums, and the emotion in the guitar depict the exact feeling of a "love drought". Awesome! Dire Straits is the best! | |
