I personally think this song is amazing. I love the underline meaning of their song writting. It is about her falling in love with a guy, but when he leaves, her world is turned upside down and she is never the same. Whenever she says "a postcard from Paris when i need the real thing" it means there is no one that can compare with the guy she fell in love with. And saying "finding out your diamond is from an old promise ring" is saying every other guy she meets is like a broken promise and will never be as special. "A call back from your fortune teller, she read your cards unpside down" is like saying your world and all of her plans have been changed ever since she met this guy. Ans she is "ruined" because she is not able to fall in love again, or find another guy to compare to this one. |

This is one of my faorite Guster songs. Guster is just such a wonderful band! This song really means alot to me. I think this song is about how people have been hurt before and they are afraid to let anyone else in so they, in turn, become the "Demon" themselves. They put up a wall so there is no chance to let others hurt them because a demon "cannot be hurt." |

I think about this song all the time. I live in a small town, and its a place where you are always reminded of things because there is no excape. Its a place where everybody knows everybody's business and everybody talks about people. Sometimes I wish i could be like the girl in this song and just run away to a place like Boston just to start my whole life over where no one knows my name. |
