It sounds like the life of someone who bullied all through growing up and their mother ignores them, and is so angry that they forget what is right and wrong and which path they truly want to go in.

I don't know if anyone else said this (didn't care to look), but it is defiantly about alcohol. Think about it, when people bother an alcoholic about his/her drinking, they're going to get annoyed or angry and get a drink ("They, they betray, I'm your only true friend now, they, they'll betray, I'm forever there"), and it's obviously the alcohol singing in the song. And after drinking for a long, long time, you get liver failure (or whatever doctors call it) ("Hey, I'm your life, I'm the one who took you here, hey, I'm your life and I no longer care").
