| Barenaked Ladies – What A Good Boy Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I think this song is about someone coming to terms with being homosexual. He's a teenage boy with a close girl friend. He starts the song by comparing the gender roles assigned to both of them before they can even speak. It implies that he might be a bit resentful of the fact that he's expected to be strong while she gets to be "pretty". I think he's bullied at his highschool and the teachers don't really do much about it. Hence the "Does anyone even give a damn". He talks about dropping out, it's an angry speculation like "Would they even notice?" then he says well, it doesn't matter if they don't notice. One day I'll make something of myself and they'll all see. Then he talks about the chains around his neck. I think the chains are what kind of person he's expected to be. A straight, strong male. He's afraid of coming out and changing everything but also scared that he'll stay "in the closet" afraid of what that will do him mentally. But being able to prove them later stops being enough. So in a desperate attempt to prove his hetero-ness (and ultimately solve his other problems) to himself he asks his friend (a girl) to have sex with him. The lyrics imply that she told him it'd be wrong but still ended up agreeing. After that their relationship as friends ended and they stopped talking. The character wrote this song as a sort of apology. The cross he bears is the undeniable knowledge the he is gay and that he can't be in a "normal" relationship with a woman. But also knowing that he hurt his friend by using her to try to fix his problems. |

Um...excuse me. People are allowed to have their opinions there is no reason to be so...cruel. And...if you don't like this band, you shouldn't be here commenting on them. AND you definitely shouldn't be trying to tear people down. Don't be such an asshole. Love, JJ. |

| Evanescence – My Immortal Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Well this is one of those songs that can be interpreted in a different way for each person, despite what the writer originally had in mind. That makes this song so beautiful. I can apply it to myself in a way that just is...wow. Even though the writer didn't mean it the way I build the words, it still holds a special meaning to me. I'm sure a lot of you feel the same way about this song, or other songs. | |
| Brandon Flowers – Crossfire Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I think this song is about an abusive relationship betweent two poeple. Lets say it's a girl and a guy. And let's say that the guy is abusing his girlfriend Theres a still in the street outside your window Your keeping secrets on your pillow Let me inside no cause for alaarrrmm I promise tonight i wont do you harm Yea i promise ya babe, i wont do ya no harm I think she was hiding from him, but he is trying to convince her that he won't harm her. And we're caught up in the crossfire Of heaven and hell And we're searchin for shelter Lay your body down Lay your body down Lay your body down He knows that he has hurt her and it's bad, but her says he loves her. Heaven=love Hell=abuse and...I think he want's to be with her anyways he wants to find a "shelter". Watching you dress as you turn down the lights I forget all about the storm outside Dark clouds roll their way over town Heart and pain came-ah pouring down Like hail, sleet and rain they're handing it out I think he's trying to get sex from her, but things keep going back to their problems. Now skipping to the end... Tell the devil that he can go back from where he came His firey arrows drew their beat(?) in vein And when the hardest part is over we'll be here And our dreams will break the boundries of our fear The boundries of our fear Lay your body down Lay your body down Lay your body down Lay your body down Lay your body down Lay your body down Next to mine He just wants to forget about the past, and get past any current issues. He just wants to be with her. |

| Actually, it's part of the murder trilogy. You just have to look a bit deeper than an obvious, and wrong, meaning. | |

| Coldplay – Viva la Vida Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Okay, this is my veiw on the song...please don't hate me. :) lol I see this as a song that really uses religion in it, but, it's still pretty d*mn awesome. I think this is maybe the anti-christ talking about how he ruled the world. "Sea's would rise when I gace the world" I think that refers to Moses but also how the antichrist is supposed to prove himself to the world by doing maricles through Satan "Now in the morning I sleep alone, sweep the streets I used to own" Refers to how everyone just...ditched him when he lost his power and he was forced into a modest life. The second stanza is just about how powerful he is and how he was feared. The third stanza refers to pillars of salt and pillars of sand which made up his castle (his life and power) but were destroyed. The next stanza he's talking to God, how he banished him from his kingdom and how just...wrechted the world became. The next refers to how Satan took him over and that's who he became and he just took power and destroyed everything in his way and people who saw through his deceptions were horrified with who he became. The next stanza is just saying that people wanted him dead for all of his crimes and how lonely he became, he regrets taking the power. The ending is him asking God to forgive him but being rejected. Sorry, ran out of space. :) | |

*note this is just how I see the song. I could very well be wrong. :) I think that the line "are we human, or are we dancer?" is like the question "are you like every other person on this earth, or are you an individual." I agree about the open door being a choice... |
