Dir En Grey – Amber (English) Lyrics 15 years ago
Well that sure was a painfully long and pointless discussion. Honestly, I can't understand how people can fight over what Kyo had in mind with his lyrics. Can't you just have your own opinion and respect that of others? These aren't your everyday lyrics here, Kyo doesn't write in a way that's easy for most fans to understand. And I believe he does it on purpose. He's said he'd rather have each person adapt a "personal" approach to a song and accept it in a way he sees fit for himself. If it manages to speak to you, in any way at all, then it's a success. It basically doesn't matter what Kyo was originally thinking when he was writing it. Hell, it might as well be about his favourite TV show that suddenly ended, we'll never know.

The song is called "Taiyou no ao" -.- And I don't recall Kyo ever "officially" mentioning that he wrote it for Kisaki...

But yeah, I'm with you on the fact that Kisaki is probably not Kyo's main lyrical inspiration...

Dir En Grey – Higeki ha Mabuta wo Oroshita Yasashiku Utsu (English) Lyrics 15 years ago
I also used to think Dir en grey were scary and too gory and that their aggression was pointless and uncalled for but, like you, after I heard one of their songs that really spoke to me (Jessica) I decided to give them a chance. At first I had to get used to the sound since it was something quite new to me but gradually as I did I realized how amazing they are. Dir en grey is like a drug - the more I listen the more I want to, the stronger the connection I feel. Their lyrics and the music they produce combined, each song leaves such a deep impression on me, a meaning that is solely for myself. And I'm not the only one who feels that way either.

I believe they're a very, very special band.

Dir En Grey – Ware, Yami Tote (English) Lyrics 15 years ago
Actually, if you look at the original Japanese version, there's no "you" in that line. It's just "a blade sharp enough to strike" You're right that there is wor play but it's more like irony, like he's saying "give my heart a shapr blade" but he actually means "stab me!"

Anyways it's amazing =)

Dir En Grey – Undecided (English) Lyrics 15 years ago
I don't think your version is better! For example you've totally messed up the course! It's supposed to be like "We won't part, I don't want us to part" or "I won't part from you, I don't want to part from you" Also BEHIND the tears??? BEYOND would be correct or maybe AFTER. And then it's supposed to be "Is there happiness beyond the tears?". Then a HUGE mistake that can even change the meaning of the song - it's "I WANT to hold your hand one more time". And after that it's "A meeting someday, a parting someday"

This translation might not be the best but at least it's correct. Sorry, but I find yours far worse!

Dir En Grey – Undecided (Remake) (English) Lyrics 15 years ago
"I shout in these times of uncertainty, but the future is too far away it almost kills me.
My tears and even the meaning of my emotions disappear into the past along with the sun" is actually the only new verse added in the lyrics. All the rest is the same but this translation kind of almost makes it seem like the lyrics were changed alltogether. Anyways, I absolutely love the live version of this but I still think I prefer the original
