Surfer Blood is so underrated. But these lyrics perfectly describes how I feel about this guy who I recently cut out of my life. he was my best friend, and knew more about me than any of my friends did, and used that to stab me in the back when I was already having a hard time. I remember he was screaming at me in my face telling me I'm ugly in front of all my friends to make me feel bad. I just laughed and said, "who cares?" I know that I am not, and even if I was it does not matter. Looks fade with time, for people get old and ugly. That's when personality truly matters more than anything else, when your left to grow old with the one you fell head over heals for. Looks only play a role in attracting that special person. Anyways, can't wait to hear this new EP! |

| I think this song can be interpreted in a lot of different ways, but I personally think this song is about learning to cope with regret. When you've done something wrong or made a mistake and feel bad about it and regret it, you look at that experience as something to learn from. You need to control yourself and not be depressed from past mistakes. You need to analyze the situation and see how you can take a learning experience from it....otherwise your regrets will haunt you with depression. | |

Well, to me this is about being us people being "one". I listened to this song on acid while playing with glow in the dark framed powder. when you rotate the frame the powder falls over constantly, always making a diamond shape pattern in the middle with the powder that was exposed to light. We are all one, making a shape known as loveeee =) Anyways, it made me think about holding hands with a group of people. One person starts a squeeze and passes it on to the next person with a squeeze until it gets back around the circle. Everyone holds a hand, and feels the hand, and that's never going to change. | the first time I heard this song, I was coming down from 3 hits of acid. I was laying perfectly still for about an hour while my friend drew a portrait of me. we were listening to music, and this song came on. I am a very big MGMT fan, but I had never heard this song. I seriously just burst into tears and started dying of laughter when I heard the way they sing it in the verses. I don't think I could breathe, tears were streaming down my face. ever since then, i've been in love with this song. =) | |

This song reminds me exactly of the first time I took ecstasy, I was so convinced it wasn't going to work. I asked everyone, "how will I know if it's working?" The music video is pretty interesting, and I feel like I know exactly what it means. I think the box they create is their mind. In the beginning they are reading the construction manual and it looks extremely complex and confusing...just like the human mind. When they are standing in front of it, they start turning colors...symbolizing drugs. When Andrew is running through the darkness inside the box, it's like the depression some people get after they come down. When the box falls down at the end, that could symbolize going insane, death, or something of that matter. well, atleast that's what I think. =) |
