In my opinion, this song is about anti-violence, anti-war etc. But also it's about giving it all to God. Hence the "Amen"s and of course the concept of "Hands held high". |

Duh. This song is damn obviously about an atheist who is thinking about his death and how it will be the complete end and could perhaps be wondering how much better it would be to have a faith in which he wouldn't have to fear death. |

Skillet are a Christian band and therefore it is perfectly acceptable to suggest that their songs are about God.
Also, if you were religious then, like me you may also have immediately connected this song to God, without even being aware that Skillet were a Christian band. |
