I think this song may be about taking a girl's virginity. And how it's hard to make casual sex casual, because no matter how much we want to deny it, feeling's and emotion are typically involved in the passionate act of sex. He (maybe conor, maybe someone he's writing about) regrets taking this girls virginity because once he had made it inside, or accomplished sleeping with her, there's only a slight chance she'll let you walk away without feeling anything for you. But he doesn't have any feelings for her, so he feel's guilty. Or at least that's what I got out of this line... maybe I'm reading into things too much.
