Lydia – Always Move Fast Lyrics 15 years ago
I think this interpretation makes the most sense.

Lydia – Empty Out Your Stomach Lyrics 15 years ago
Leighton was hospitalized with severe stomach flu not too long before their last album was put out... could there be a relation between that? Something to think about.

mewithoutYou – Silencer Lyrics 15 years ago
It's been six years since I first discovered this song and I still get the damn chills. lol

"She put on happiness like a loose dress
Over pain I'll never know
"So the peace you had," she says, "I must confess, I'm glad to see it go."
We're two white roses lying frozen just outside his door
I've made you so happy and so sad,
But which should I be more sorry for?"

So hopeless and so beautiful. I relate to these lyrics so much, it was devastating to even hear someone sing these words out loud the first time I heard the song. To be around someone that knows they're dying but lives in such a way that is so care-free, like their condition doesn't even matter, like it's not even happening... how do they do that? To be with them as they pass and think, "I've made you so happy these last few years, but I've made you so sad to realize that it'll all be gone, what should I feel more sorry for?"

Lydia – Empty Out Your Stomach Lyrics 15 years ago
This is a tricky one... especially because we don't know if the lyrics are correct.

But I think it's...
"Staring away, I was now starving,
Oh but I will try, try and fake it."

Whether the correct lyrics are "now" or "not", I defiantly hear "starving." As this song explains some sort of eating disorder, it would only make sense.
I think this song is about a girl that pressures herself to be "perfect" and indulges herself in vanity... she's obsessive to please him. The girl he's describing in the song seems to be bulimic and he only blames it on himself that she is this way.

"Staring away, I was now starving,
Oh but I will try, try and fake it."

If the lyrics I'm guessing are correct, I would say that this displays some sort of affection in trying to be the bigger person in the situation. Being in his position, something like this would make me feel the same exact way... you'd feel like you wouldn't want to end up like the person who's sick and you'd feel bad for that person. The only thing you could do is stare away and try to pretend everything is okay. And obviously, you wouldn't want to eat in front of someone with an eating disorder, so that's why he's "faking it."

I see this line as a conversation between them after she put back on her clothes...
"My body is sick, yeah, it never stops breathing."
"I'm sure I know what you're going through-"
"Yeah, I call it vanity."

Vanity,
(I lost my mouth, can you speak for me?)

Such a powerful lyric. I think that's how he perceives the girl... someone who is so lost for words and confused about herself that she uses vanity to "describe" herself. In other words, vanity is the only thing she knows.

A sad song really. It's about how much vanity can destroy you and the people around you.

Wolfmother – Vagabond Lyrics 15 years ago
“This is a song about innocence lost.” as stated in the very beginning of the song...
Anyone ever think that this song could be about a boy corrupting a girl to set her "free" for his own selfish needs?
