I think there's more to it than that. The idea that she would rather be alone than admit she was wrong says more about it I think that they were together but had a really bad breakup, it feels as if she refused to admit she was wrong so he walked away. He finally forgot about her, but 'skeletons grow stronger when kept from the light', so he felt that just pushing her to the back of his mind was a bad idea, now she's back and making things difficult for him |
