I believe that this song is about Chris liking a girl that he feels is way out of his league. Because of this, he is always worrying about their relationship and feels like he's not good enough for you. He is constantly trying to talk to her just to show how much he likes her and he wants to make sure that she likes him back. | this is the most beautiful song on the CD, in my opinion ♥ I love the reference to Audrey Hepburn (: in the version by seagull orchestra (which i like better than this version, probably just because i heard the other version first a long time ago and memorized all of those lyrics) says "steal your statue back and we'll fall in love" instead of "sometimes i can see your face in the crowd". "steal your statue back and we'll fall in love" is refering to one of Adam Young's favorite movies, How To Steal A Million, starring Audrey Hepburn. i think you're on the right track anyway though. idk what the beginning means... but "POWDERY paradise"? yeah, drugs. it may not be about 'death'. death may be a metaphor for something else.... i personally think that it is also adam that has 'died'(but it really could have been from either point of view, adam just chose it this way)... but i don't think he died. all of the lyrics that turn to death really mean that he's dead, they just mean that he's just gone.. so gone that it feels like he's dead to the girl because she hasn't seen him or talked to him in forever. adam uses so many metaphors that it's ridiculous and almost impossible to understand, but a girl can only try(: my personal opinion(: |
