This is definatley Jerry kicking ass, but not just Jerry, everyone. The whole band is what makes Alice in chains a kick ass band. It's not all one man. But all of them. My favorate part would infact be the guitar solo. Jerry's solos are beautiful. He is a truly amazing man. Layne was too god bless his soul. RIP. Sean has his great sense of humor, he is a great guy also. And Mike is a touching man as well. So is Mike Starr even though he isnt with them anymore. I think this song has many meanings. ONe being, you know like someone who is in their own little depressing time in life who can't be helped really, and another part is i feel it is like an ending to a relationship maybe. "Standing at a corner where I threw you on a turn, I'll move on" idk It seems to me like it could and another is a man dying for a cause. "damn it all if blood you spill, turn the grass more green" I think some guy said that already haha but I dont really know what I am talking about and I am shitty at explaining things and I am probably wrong. THe band knows their meaning for it. Alice in Chains forever in my blood man, Forever in chains. |

i think this song could also be about a relationship being over. like the chorus says "look me strait in the eye and say that its over now" that could be about a relationship. its also probably about how jerry thought that the band was growing apart .but just an ther stupid guess.

the song could be about suicide like the chorus says: "i try to get away" like i try to die, get away from the world "But yet i stick around" but still you are here. i know my comment does not make sense. RIP Layne.

now this is just a guess, but i think that the song has several diffrent meanings, one would be that it is about vietnam because the vietnamese would take prisoners and put them in these holes and leave them in there and they would eventually be buried in their own waste.in other words when the lyrics say "buried in my shit" that might be what its about but like i said just a guess, not a very good one though. RIP Layne.
