I absolutely agree with all of that. I was having trouble thinking of what she was describing. And she has a few tattoos, she would certainly know how it feels. I have none. But friends with a tattoo artist. |

I think theres a strong meaning in just the title of this song. To write Poetry towards a God-figure is writing words which in a way wont be read by the one it was addressed to. Shes has such strong feelings and offering all her love up to one person. They become her deity in this way. But deities stay in their heavens. They don't clearly return love. You can sometimes believe they've responded to your pleas but you never have real proof. The ending of the song is the strongest. Shes praying and uttering constantly into the emptiness of how much she loves him. Shes trying to get these feelings out, but he's not responding. She yells in herself echoing so loudly into emptiness. |

This song has always been inspirational to me because I want to live up to be the sort of man she speaks of in this song. I believe this song is a dedication to inspirational people. Someone that gives you support. Who do you turn to to pick up, keep you going. I believe all of Medulla had a theme of connected-ness. We are all linked. And humans must be close to one another to achieve peace. Your inspirational muse of a friend is the strongest link you can have. They give you a crown that makes you feel like you can rule the world. Just to feel that way. And then you hand it over to the next person and inspire someone yourself. He demands A closeness We all have earned Our lightness Keep close to your muse whatever and whomever that may be.
