from the first few lines of this song i immeditately connected with it because it makes me think of how people feel when they deal with anorexia. lightbody says how it feels strange and untrue, like he cant believe this person is doing such a terrible thing to themselves. the anger swells in his guts, because he is angry at the fact that the person didnt come and talk to him about how they are feeling. and he wants to open their eyes to make them see that they are beautiful but they are killing themselves. this is how my friends felt and i thought this song summed up their feelings beautifully. |

hehe a great song from a great band, one of my faves! i love playing this song when im having a bad day. just sums up how i feel! 'cool your beans my son'. doesnt get much more northern irish than that! good ole norn iron talent for ya! |

| this is a lovely cheery summer song until you listen to the lyrics. i think lightbody is being sarcastic here, describing how he feels like sh*t at the moment and sarcastically saying that he's doing cartwheels. the cheery music reflects this. i really like this song :D | |

i totally agree with t1nkerb3ll! a indescribably emotional song that is so beautiful (although i have to disagree and say that leonard cohen's version of hallelujah can never be beaten!). i interpreted this song a little differently, i thought it was about how his relationship was a little shaky and how he just wanted them to take a break, and get away from everything and just remember why they love each other. but, snow patrol's songs are so emotional that they can be interpreted in many ways. its why they are so good. thats good ole northern irish talent for ya! ;) |
