Listen closely, it's about someone being sold out by a close friend. One he possibly grew up with. The "pig," as Scott calls him/her in the song, is lying for whatever reason he/she has.
"I can hear when the pig whispers sweetly"
"you told a lie- and I know it was mine" |

Really?? That's insane! I wonder if that line about the man named Sue being a woman too ties into that at all. The dual gender identity pops up again in "Lounge Fly" |

I always thought this song was about being a junkie, though I vaugely remember hearing that they wrote it about a missing girl from their hometown, who later on was found dead. I don't know how true that is though. Anyway I think they may have tied the dead-girl theme with the drug theme. In a way when you're an addict it's like being dead because you're slowly killing yourself. If you're a serious addict it's like being in a zombie-like state cause' you're high all the time. Given the 1st verse,
"And I feel that times a wasted go
So where ya going to tommorrow?
And I see that these are lies to come
Would you even care?"
I thought that depicted the attitude of the average drug addict. They're very apathetic when it comes to anything but their drug of choice. They often lie in order to get their next fix. The lines, "And I feel it. And she feels it." Is refering to getting high, specifically shooting up smack. The next verse,
"Where ya going to tommorrow?
Where ya going with that mask I found?
And I feel, and I feel
When the dogs begin to smell her
Will she smell alone?"
When he's talking about a mask I always thought that was refering to robbery (cause' robbers often wear masks to conceal their identity). Maybe he and his girlfriend are going to rob a store or somebody to get money for drugs. The dogs are drug sniffing dogs. When his say's "will she smell alone?" maybe that's him contemplating not doing the robbery with her. The other verse,
"When the dogs do find her
Got time, time, to wait for tomorrow
To find it, to find it, to find it"
Those lines show the addict's state of mind. No matter if his girlfriend get's caught in a crime or winds up dead he's still most concerned about getting a fix. |

I also think that this song is about a drug problem of Scott's friend. But, I think that it's about Scott wanting to try it for himself at the beginning. "I wanna' run through your wicked garden, 'cause that's the place to find you" I think that's saying he wants to try this drug that his friend is doing, and enjoy it with him. But, later in the song he's wanting to "burn the wicked garden" because he doesn't like this new drug or the addiction to it. Just my two cents.

One line in the second verse goes "Her name is what it means." This line is a bit of a pun, referring to the similarities between the words "heroin" (the drug) and "heroine" (a female hero). Scott Weiland was known for frequent drug use throughout his musical career. He is saying that heroin is his heroine, that drugs are his hero.

The song refers to Weiland's past history of drug use in the chorus. The vocalist told MTV News: "The verse is sort of an 'I Am The Walrus' kind of thing, where it's a bunch of stuff that phonetically sounds good. And then you get to the meat of the idea in the chorus... it's a reference to my ex. It's a real rock-and-roll song that has our own individuality."

This song is probably about feeling betrayed during a relationship. "I am trampled under soles of another man's shoes because I walked to softly" could mean how he never stuck up for himself in arguments. "And she says it's natural," means how she feels about the whole thing.
