This song almost seems to me like Cornell is singing directly to Slash telling him to keep on making music his way despite all the bullsh-t he's had to deal with from his lead singers and record labels. |

One that you felt you were happier with than any other, but something happened where it didn't work out for whatever reason. Suddenly you run into that person again unexpectedly (Maybe it's a bitter wind that chilled from the pacific rim that brought you this way) and though the happy thoughts returned, you still can't forget the bitterness leftover either. |
